Tire size Suggestions

Postby TTcoupe » February 5th, 2012, 2:35 pm

I'm gonna be running 17X10 Wheels, on the back of my MK3 and 17X8.5 on the front for a gentle stretch I'm going with 205/40's on the front and I'm not sure what to run in the back?? I only want a VERY GENTLE stretch and my options are limited. I was thinking about 225/35 but unfortunately 225/40 does not exist apparently and I think 225/45 is gonna be too tall. 235/40 there are plenty of selection on this size but I think this size will be far too wide for what I'm looking for, any suggestions or opinions or maybe even pictures to see what other people are running??

Thanks for the input guys!

I'm not sure if a 195/40 on the front will be too much stretch or not as well??

195/40 is alot of stretch on an 8.5

on my jetta i had 215/40 on 8.5 and 225/40 on a 9.5. I will take a photo and upload to show you the stretch.

im just amazed that you are gonna fit 17x10 on a MK3. I assume you are rolling the rears or it is a widebody.

Horsepower is like F.U.C.K. buddies.. you want as many as possible, for as cheap as possible, with very few people knowing how many you actually have.

Chase the stretch that you've got there is almost exactly what I'm looking for,215/40 should be fine for the front, I may have to go to a 235/40 on the rear. What brand of tires did you use??
